The Internet has dramatically changed our world and impacted our lives. We help students keep up with advances in technology, but what are we doing to help them stay safe online?

i-SAFE Inc. has partnered with the Kamehameha Schools to provide a prevention-oriented Internet safety education program for students in grades K through 12, which includes professional development, K through 12 curriculum, plus leadership opportunities for students, and resources for parents and the community at large. i-SAFE curriculum is designed to foster active participation between students and their instructors through classroom discussions and cooperative group learning activities. Please view our current Curriculum Guide.

i-SAFE partners with Kamehameha educators to bring the i-SAFE curriculum into the classroom through integrated teaching and learning activities, which cover key topics like the tools and techniques that online predators use to seduce kids. The lessons combine age-appropriate discussions and collaborative-learning projects that can be utilized in classrooms with or without computer access.

i-SAFE uses a train-the-trainer model for professional development. The i-SAFE Professional Development Program (PDP) is a training session which allows teachers, law enforcement, and administrators to become a Certified Trainer in Internet safety. The certification process includes a comprehensive explanation of Internet safety concepts, a sneak peak at sample i-SAFE curricula for grades K-12, and detailed instruction on the steps to implement the i-SAFE Program.

i-SAFE will provides Kamehameha educators four ways to participate in an i-SAFE Professional Development Program:

  • Virtual Training Academy i-SAFE's Virtual Training Academy (VTA) is live, interactive online training. It’s similar to the classroom and allows participants to collaborate with others across the country and engage in discussions with those involved in the same session. Attendees can train together online while listening to the presentation, asking questions, hearing others' questions, and getting answers, live.
